[zɛga'du̯ɔvitʃ], Emil, polnischer Schriftsteller, * Bielitz-Biala 20. 7. 1888, ✝ Sosnowitz 24. 2. 1941; Begründer der Dichtergruppe »Czartak«, die aus Enttäuschung über die Zivilisation eine religiös-mystische »Bindung an die Scholle« predigte; künstlerisches Vorbild war die Volkskunst, v. a. die der Beskiden, in der die ursprünglichen menschlichen Werte erhalten geblieben seien. In seinen Gedichten und Dramen vereinen sich folkloristische und expressionistische Elemente. Die Romane (»Zmory«, 1935; »Motory«, 2 Bände, 1938) waren dem Naturalismus - mit Betonung des Sexuellen - verpflichtet und enthielten Tendenzen des gesellschaftlichen Protests, der sich später noch verstärkte (»Martwe morze«, 1939); Übersetzer von Goethes »Faust« (2 Teile, 1926-27).
